We did Eleven!!</title><content type='html'>Chris and I ran with the team on Saturday and ran an entire eleven miles.  We are getting ready to do the Cowtown Half Marathon in March and think we will be ready.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I just want to give a great big THANK YOU to all of you who donated towards the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.  Every dollar counts.  Not only that, I was able to sign my recommitment papers thanks to all of you!! I didn't have any training this week other than a quick two mile run on Amy's treadmill.  I really didn't have  a sitter either.  So I told Chris to go ahead without me this time.  Next Saturday Chris and I should be on track.  They only want us to do 10 again.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="color: rgb(153, 51, 153);font-size:130%;" &gt;&lt;span style="font-weight: bold;font-family:verdana;" &gt;On the other hand, my fundraising has not being going so well.  Team in Training has a minimum fundraising requirement and it is due on Feb. 3 of  450.00.  I won't be able to complete the training with the team. Some days I head out to run and I think there is no way I can accomplish my goal.  I may be tired, stressed, little sleep and this was one of those days.  It was 30 degrees outside, and I was wearing shorts!!!!!  Chris was not able to come with me, he had a training to go to, so I was on my own.  I really did not think I was going to be able to complete the full 10, but I did!!  Afterwards I was so excited to come home and tell everyone. Oh yes, you heard me right.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Today was the hardest day yet.  Every Saturday we meet with our team at the Trinity river to run together at 7:30am!    I was having a low energy day and Chris was pumped.  Chris was amazing!  He has come a long way in his training.  He didn't miss a beat!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Even though it was hard I made it.  I didn't quit at all.  My legs were in agony.  My thighs, shins, and all.  I think mainly due to the fact that I needed new shoes. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Afterwards we went to the Fort Worth Running Co.  They have a treadmill that you run on while they record your stride by video.  Then they fit you with the correct running shoe.  They feel amazing!  I had forgotten how good my old shoes used to feel.  Don't ever underestimate the power of good running shoe.  I can't wait till the next time I  run and break them in. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Today my legs felt like a car ran over them, so I didn't get much done.  I took a long soak in the bath, and  just took it easy and relaxed.  Oh yeah, I forgot!  I also ate Panda Express for lunch and pizza for dinner.  The good thing about running is that you can afford to cheat every now and then! There has not been a lot of free time to train, but we feel that after the holidays we will be able to dedicate more time to it.  This weekend the goal is to run 8.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Healthwise, I am doing great.  Chris has been having difficulty running due to the lack of arches in his feet.  But, he is determined to finish the race.  He won't give up.  Pain and all!!!!    Every time he runs, he figures a better way to run and tweaks it a bit to help him finish the run.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Thanks for checking in! We are so excited about this challenge and can't wait to see the finish line.  We started training about 3 weeks ago, (while moving into a new house and preparing for  2 Thanksgiving Feasts) and the farthest we have run in one day is 4 miles!  That is more than we have ever done in our entire lives!  Looks like we have a long road ahead, (literally), HEE HEE!!  I am creating this blog so that I can share with you our ups and downs, and all the in between.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The event we are running in is called the Big D Marathon.  It is located in Dallas.  Hence the word, BIG D!  For those of you who don't know what a marathon is, it is running 26.3 miles.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;This goal is not about Chris and I, it is about all of the people and families of people diagnosed with Leukemia.  We are raising money for the cure.  The only way for the cure to be found is if it is funded and it takes alot of money.  Please consider supporting us and make a donation.  Any amount will be greatly appreciated.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Check back to from time to time to see our progress.  Our goal is to run 6 miles this Saturday!!!!
